THE CAMBODIA TRUST
Description: The Cambodia Trust is a UK registered charity and our mission statement is to enable people with disability to participate in the normal life of the community. We were founded in 1989 in response to an emergency need: artificial limbs for the many landmine amputees. Today we run three physical rehabilitation clinics in Cambodia where we are providing prosthetic and orthotic care, and physiotherapy free of charge. If necessary we also supports patients with their transport, accommodation and food during rehabilitation. After we provide the mobility to our patients, we work with them in the community: ensuring that they have access to education, vocational training, etc. Next to the Phnom Penh clinic, we opened an educational center, the Cambodian School of Prosthetics and Orthotics (CSPO) in 1994 where local people learn to fit artificial limbs and braces. CSPO is a regional center and since 1998 we have accepted students from other developing countries including Laos, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Afghanistan, and East Timor. In this way, we can share the knowledge established in Cambodia to help those other countries that also need trained professionals. ***UK Headquarters*** 11 Friday Court, North Street, Thame, OX9 3GA, United Kingdom TEL: +44 (0)1844-214-844 FAX: +44 (0)1844-216-269 Email: office@cambodiatrust.co.uk ctinformation@online.com.kh
